It’s ok. I’d opt for finding a Z06, though, especially if you are going to Autox. The bit where the removable top fits in the rear pillar really interferes with the helmet. I had that problem when I shopped C5's, and ended up with a Z06. Plus, they’re better cars, and sound better, too.

These always seem to do well at the local autox. Optimal to find a FRC, but that’s probably a tall order as the’re pretty rare. Local guy flipped his C5Z at one event, so that was a bummer.

My mom almost exactly that car. Hers is a 2000 I think. My dad and I hooked her up with headers, x pipe, cat back and a short shifter and it is awesome! It is such an easy car to drive for what it is, I love it. This is coming from a guy who pretty much only likes German/Japanese sports cars. Nothing is overly expensive for it except tires. It shakes the earth when you start it.

Would probably be a lot of fun and possibly eat tires like mad. I think the price is high, they are definitely trying to recoup some of that mod money.

I have no problems with road trips! In fact at least 2 guys own me favors when it come to taking road trip for looking at cars, so I have someone to drive me as well.

I just flew to Phoenix, AZ to buy a 20 year old SUV and drive it 1880 miles home. Alone. You have no excuses. Except for maybe summer tires, that’s a reasonable excuse.

Definitely! I think Corvettes in general are a good deal. And there’s a lot of them out there to peruse . I guess I compared this listing to my Z06 which I picked up for less than 15k. Mine had a few more miles but was also 99% stock.

Not sure where you live but you may find more deals as it warms up. I started my search in September, didn’t end up buying til April. There’s plenty of listings on CorvetteForums as well.

CP. Can’t be bothered to get it code free is a bad sign. Also, some of the items listed as “ options” are actually standard. That clear top means the painted targa has vanished.

If you are really interested in a fun weekend/autocross car, look for a FRC. Stiffer and lighter. Get the Z51 option.

A lot of those mods are cosmetic or easily reverted to stock. If it has the upgrades you would do, I’d still knock them down on the price. It wouldn’t pass emission where I live so it isn’t worth that much.

The heads, cam, fat rims and the Z51 package are what made it stand out to me.

No emissions for me here (teammate runs a catless turbo Elise, no problem )
